Luna is a fox trotter and a lope or gallop is not very nice on a gaited horse. They are better in their gaited fast trot. But in training you keep the legs going if the horse will not give to the request. And Luna being lazy has to gallop a lot when she begins to be willful. She is getting better and more responsive now.
This past Friday my vet called to tell me I am the owner of a baby filly. My newly purchased auction fox trotter mare gave birth to a very healthy red filly at 4:30am. Mama mare had no milk and so the foal needed colostrum in a feeding tube. I am so glad I sent my mare to the vet instead of staying here. She will be a healthy and stronger baby for it. My mare is 18+ years old and this might be her last foal. Now, I have to wait for my gray mare to give birth in July.
