Busy Christmas

The weather has been mild and very wet this December.

I got my snowy village up and lit for guest when they stop by.

Our front door reflects the outside lights. Warm inside the house and cold outside at night.
With all the events that came up this October through December the end of the year has flown by in a blur. It was good work, helping friends in need, but personal projects were put on hold. Did not get to ride my horses nor create nor sew. I am looking forward to next year and making time for myself.

Melting Cats

When the wood stove is going full blast, the cats begin to thaw and melt.

Using a tissue box as a pillow works fine for Melon.

Good thing this is a load bearing tissue box.

Daisy is melting on the saddle blankets

Too tired to complain.

Poppy nestled in the dog blankets.

Snowy November

Had a light dusting of snow in the morning then it all melted away.

Very early snowfall in November this year.

Twin Sunsets

Last week the sun began to set. Oddly, the sun was setting in the wrong place. My house was lit up from the East side like a sunrise and the sun was setting on the west slope. We went outside to see what was going on and the answer was written in the sky, Chemtrails all over the place like cross hatching. Two planes were painting the sky with chemicals at that time. The chemical they were spraying were staying in the atmosphere and was reflecting like glitter in the sky the sunset. The result was dual sunsets.

The Britishes

Finally, someone else gets it about modern technology and rudeness. This is one of my biggest pet peeves is that people are addicted to mobile devices. They can't carry on a normal conversation eye to eye contact because their attention is on a device . They could also be driving, walking even in the bathroom and this applies as well. I have to say College Humor hits the nail on the head.My husband found this one You Tube for me. Yup, this is how I feel about mobile devices. And I have one, but it is off most of the time. I prefer to talk to people in my presence and not a piece of plastic.

Last Saturday

Last Saturday we went to a large organic farm in Norwood, Missouri. We got a tour of the farm and got to see most of their animals. We were escorted by these guard geese.

Got to see a neat looking cow and her herd.

The neatest thing was a place to eat on the way home. There is an Amish restaurant that is solar powered. If they generate their own power they can use electricity. This was a wonderful place to eat and we got a tour of their solar set up.

Good  Norwood, MO Amish eats on Thur, Fri and Sat only.

We got home by sunset.

Henny Penny Yard

One of a pair of Welsummer roosters I have.
Very calm and very good gentlemen for my hens.

My ever growing dark Cornish hen. She is even tempered and very broody. She is not even 8 months old yet. These are becoming my favorite laying hen.

Red Ranger meat hens almost 20 weeks old.

Itius Bitius

This is "the kitten"our last foster kitten still in our care. She has had ringworm, tapeworms, ear mites, fleas, malnutrition, and failure to thrive. She is only 3 months old and barely weights a pound. Her healthy sibling was adopted and is thriving. She has grown some and is a hard keeper in the weight department. But we still have her and she acts like an older cat. She does not meow only purrs. She can climb and go up stairs, but she cannot jump. She has deformed front feet and curved front legs. Only time will tell if she will grow up into a healthy adult. But for now she is a happy little kitten.
UPDATE: She was adopted today! A happy cat lover saw my poster and wanted to see Itty Bitty. I brought her down to our local Senor Center. It was love at first sight for both of them.

New Crafting

Getting hooked on needle punch and hooked rugs. We were visiting Silver Dollar City in Branson and I got to try out these new to me crafts. Wonderful place to see and learn about crafts. Now I need to make time to sit and do.

Pumpkins Bumpkins

I finally got to grow my own pumpkins. I saved some seeds from a variety I liked last October. They grew well. The next test is the flavor. These are not perfect for carving, but I am hoping for savory cooked pumpkin pie.
